A bad kick from the lizards was the first lackluster maneuver of the lizard team, followed by a
series of halfhearted failed blocks from the teams Saurus'.  These failures made the team have to
scramble to keep the Khemri from scoring in the first half.  Only one attempt at the ball carrier
resulted in contact, resulting in a very dispirited shove.  The first half ended with one casualty
apiece and a skink, saurus, and the kroxigor in the KO box.  The team had to resort to the
magic sponge in order to have enough players to start the second half.  
The second half started worse than the first, the Khemri utilize a magic foot to make the ball land
in front of a flesh golem and zombie.  Most of the Chalupacabras take positions to cover the ball,
but a required block results in yet another saurus knocking itself down.  The corpsies manage to
gain possession and mount a defense for their ball handler.  Again the lizards scramble to mount a
defense, and the key brick in their defensive wall (Ssatanssheart) chases butterflies instead of
filling the gap.  Almost unopposed, the Khemri manage to score.  After receiving the second kick
off, the Chalupacabras form a box around the ball.  The Khemri invest the lizards left and middle,
leaving a weak right side.  Seizing the chance to show their superior speed, the lizards sweep their
box around to that side and seemed to have a wide open dash for the end zone.  However, a succession
of failed blocks from the saurus's stall the drive at the critical moment.  Shambling and dripping
putrescence, the Khemri manage to stifle the drive and knock the ball loose; as well as setting up a
nice defense around it.  The skinks, disgusted with their larger brethren's ineptitude, put on
the most athletic play of the game.  Multiple dodges from one skink to get him in the end zone
followed by another skink making multiple dodges into and out of tackle zones to retrieve the ball
and make a beautiful pass to the first skink.  Unfortunately for the Chalupacabras the ball bounces
right out this skinks hands and flies into the stands.  The Khemri win 1-0.
