His 'Pit Trap' set back my initial drive. I got the ref several times, but didn't foul much. He used 'Knuckle Dusters' on a Blitzer to S.I. him. Our stabby guys were both thrown out. I inflicted several casualties against my opponent. He had terrible luck and fortfeited on turn 8 of the second half right before I was about to score a third time. Scored quickly in first half, and then used the Big Fist Magic Item to smack down his stabby guy and get the ball. Couldn't score. He used Half-Time Pep Talk to get more re-rolls, and then greased my stabby guy's shoes. He used a Magic Sponge to get one of his k.o.'s back in. He scored in second half, then my fans invaded to stun six of his players. Messed up the score attempt. Went to overtime, and he grinded me down to win. Good game! Thrower learned Dodge. Got 'Extra Training' to get a re-roll, which, while badly needed, did little to help the dismal luck. I tried to smack down his team, but couldn't break armor. A love potion had my thrower running off nto the stands to get killed, but he got apotecharied. A blitzer was S.I.'d, b ut his apothecary took pity upon me and healed him. An inspired play gave me a shot at tying it up in the second half, but his team had smacked so many of my players off the field that his numeric superiority kept it from being. Neverthelss, a blitzer got a casualty, which gave him a Mighty Blow, and another blitzer got MVP which gave him STAND FIRM. 'It Wasn't Me!' got one of his gobbos jailed, and 'Rakarth's Bounding Leap' helped me score on the last turn of the second half. He did an incredible one-turn throw team-mate score to tie it up. I pounded most of his team into the knock-out bin and casualty box for much of the game. All of the secret weapons were removed from the game one way or another. Dice were luke-warm, but it was good enough. I killed his star gobbo, and then apothecaried hi. He felt generous after that, and declined 'Robbing' me after the match. Scored in over time to win. A catcher got an agility increase, while another one learned Block and a blitzer learned Pro. 70K winnings got me my rookie Ogre. Luck was lukewarm in the first half of the game, but things picked up in the second half. Some 'Bad Habits' lost me a re-roll. 'Rakarth's Petty Spite' kept Lucien out for one stinkin' drive. By the end of the second half, I was planting elves in the ground like flowers, but casualties were lower than I'd have liked. Ian Burden and Robert Smith were dealing out the casualties - two -1AV serious injuries, but one was apothecaried. 'Magic Sponge' got some of his elves back on the field. At the end of the game, 'Number One with a Bullet' allowed me to hire Sue Sulley's little sister as a replacement catcher. | 1 | 2 | 3 | 2 | 0 | 1 | | 6 | Underhill Gang | 3 to 2 | W | 52K | 60K | FF+0. BROOOTALLLL!!! Boy George was the star of the night - making completions and smashing hobbits! In a two-die, my choice hit against him, Boy George smashed a star halfling player, and they BOTH DIED! Aothecary saved one human already, so he wasn't available for a save. First half was a grinding match in whcich we both smashed away at eachother. I scored late in the first half with an 'Inspired Play.' He then had a tree throw his star hobbit for a tie-up at the end of the half. In the second half, he pulled another throw team mate to make it two to one. I then smashed the hell out of his halfling and tied it up at hte end of the second half with a 'Potion of Speed.' His trees were in top form, but Meat Loaf smacked one down to casualty him out. In over time, I grinded him down and scored to win. Might Blow and Pro RULE!!! We were dominating the game through the first half and half of the second, and then the deaths started rolling in. A 'M ine' was used to good effect in the first half, and 'Doom and Gloom' took away his re-rolls in the second. A 'Magic Sponge' brought some players back on the field, but they were qquickly knocked back off of it again.
