1 | Lothloren Lawyers | 0 to 4 | L | 61K | 80K | Hahahaha. Couldn't get casualties to save my life, and that was my only chance. Cards were not much help. Stevie Nicks did some viscious fouling, and Robert Smith eventually thrown out for being stabby. Annie Lennox got a casualty to earn her a skill - Block. +0FF. Bought two linemen - Daryl Hall & John Oates. | 0 | 4 | 1 | 4 | 0 | 0 | 2 | Axlotl Loco | 1 to 2 | L | 61K | 70K | Good game. Afraid of being severely mutilated, but instead wound up doing most of the pounding myself with good success. Cards - Rakarth's Petty Spite, Spy, Woof woof!, Snack Break - worked well for me, but not good enough to pull out a win. Robert Smith injured and then tossed after lots of stabbing. Tossed out his stabby guy, too. He had the Ref for the whole game after banning my fans (too bad, they missed a hell of a game). FF+0. David Bowie. Jr. got Accurate, Jo Callis got Pro, and Meat Loaf got Pro. Bought a catcher - Cyndi Lauper! | 1 | 2 | 5 | 4 | 2 | 1 | 3 | Royal Rumblers | 2 to 1 | W | 46K | 30K | Close, nail-biter game. He had three cards to my one, but they didn't affect me too much. The dice were hot for me today. I knocked the hell out of his team, even though Simon Le Bon was out of the game since the beginning of the first half. Scoreless first half due to his wizard kee[ing me from scoring. He scored half way through the second half, then I pulled out a score to tie it up. By the time we went into overtime, his team was badly beaten up, and I was the only one with a re-roll left; so, I scored. The fans finally liked the game. David Bowie Jr. was on tonight with two completions. Sue Sulley's Sister made two touchdowns and got a skill - Side Step. Annie Lennox was doing well tonight as well, and got a skill - Leader. +1FF. | 2 | 1 | 6 | 2 | 1 | 0 | 4 | Nubian Nihilators | 2 to 3 | L | 58K | 60K | Long game into overtime. We were pounding the hell out of each other, but his casualties kept coming back. I found a Magic Helmet for Robert Smith, and a Better Offer got rid of one of his assistant coaches. His cards put the ball in the corner without scatter in the second half, and he got my team drunk at half-time. The team was performing well with versatility tonighy, but with his virtually invulnerable mummies all over the place, and Meat Loaf and Simon Le Bon getting knocked out early, there was little hope. Still, it was a tight game into overtime with a real chance of winning save for a failed dodge by David Bowie Jr. in preparation of a long bomb for a win. FF+0. | 2 | 3 | 6 | 8 | 1 | 1 | 5 | Baal's Minions | 0 to 1 | L | 72K | 10K | Short, sweet, and brutal. Game had all the suspense of a Yugo jousting an 18-wheeler. Cards sucked for me, and the dice were cold (Lads were not very PROfessional tonight!) His cards rocked - Rakarth's Petty Spite kept Simon Le Bon on the can all game, and Doom and Gloom shut down my re-rolls in the second half. A Lurve Poition I played on him kept him from scoring and gave the only team kill for my team of the game to the fans! Managed to pound many of his guys off the field, but they just kept coming back. Have I mentioned that I hate undead? Stevie Nicks managed to whore 1 SPP with a completion, and Cyndi Lauper got MVP from her hospital bed! Stevie Nicks got Block while Cyndi Lauper got Dirty Player (you know, she's so unusual!). FF+0 | 0 | 1 | 4 | 5 | 1 | 1 | 6 | Lothloren Lawyers | 1 to 2 | L | 56K | 120K | Just frickin' amazing. This game was proof that cards (& wizards) can be game winners (okay, good coaching helped, too). Game started with good signs for me: his treeman Took Root and one of his nigglers missed the game. I smashed the wood elf team to bits, and I had four opportunities to move the ball and score. Instead, a 'Lurve Potion' sent my ball carrier into the stands, a wizard zapped one guy getting ready to score, and a 'Burst Ball' put us back to kicking off. The wood elves scored twice, and I managed to score once. Dave Stewart almost got a skill-winning completion with 'Eye of the Eagle,' but a frickin' blitzer dropped the damned ball! There was a chance for a tie-up score in the second half with 'Injury Time', but snake eyes foiled that. The dice were hot tonight for injuries, but lukewarm for passing & catching. Robert Smith got ejected fairly early (after knocking out a couple of people), and Cyndi Lauper spent a little time in the knock-out box after applying her new found skill to much effect. An injured catcher was taken care of with 'This will hurt a bit!' and I managed to get some extra cash with a 'Large Donation.' Despite the carnage, the fans hated the game. FF - 1. Bought a wizard (at last!). Phillip Adrien Wright lgot doubles to learn Diving Tackle, and Cyndi Lauper learned Block. | 1 | 2 | 9 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 7 | Axlotl Loco | 0 to 3 | L | 53K | 20K | Bwuh? What hit me? That game was a trainwreck. The dice were ice cold, I had my dirty player out on a niggling injury. Only one card worked for me - Pit Trap. My guys got knocked into the last century. Phillip Adrian Wright got killed and the apothecary failed. The wizard failed a 3+ roll. The only one on tonight was David Bowie, who got three completions. After all of that, probably the worst game this team has ever had, the fans freakin' liked it! FF+1. Bought Phillip's long lost relative, Phillip Adrian Wright, II. | 0 | 3 | 2 | 8 | 0 | 1 | 8 | Royal Rumblers | 2 to 1 | W | 63K | 70K | Tight game. While we were knocking people to the ground regularly, these were mostly knock-outs. So, I couldn't clear the field of Norse. He had some good cards, including one that knocked out my wizard for the game, 'Sorry!' Nevertheless, we managed to pull off a late-game victory in the second half. Fans not impressed again, FF+0. Cyndi Lauper got an agility increase in this one. Bought a re-roll. | 2 | 1 | 5 | 6 | 0 | 1 | 9 | Nubian Nihilators | 2 to 1 | W | 66K | 40K | Amazing game. We went into this game as the hopeless underdogs, and somehow we pulled out a win. Victory can be explained by two major factors: cards & luck. My wizard decided to do a decent job tonight and stopped him from scoring late in the first half. Simon Le Bon found a 'Secret Way' to get down to the ball, pick it up, run up to passing range to blitzer Jo Callis, did a 'Fake Play' to keep the Nihilators from intercepting, made the throw, Jo caught it and ran it far into the Nubian's back field, and then scored next turn. In the second half, a series of fumbled attempts to pick up the ball eased the Nubian's score in the early second half. Nubians killed Meat Loaf, but the apothecary succeeded in saving him. Also, what appeared to be a a bad serious injury turned out to be not so bad after 'This Will Hurt a Bit...' helped one player. David Bowie & Jo Callis pulled off a simply amazing series of plays late in the second half to score again for the win. Fouling, stabbing, and targeting mummies seemed to work to keep the Nubians less dangerous this game. Fans loved the game - FF+1. Only 40k in winnings, but David Bowie learned Dodge and Robert Smith learned Dirty Player. | 2 | 1 | 3 | 3 | 1 | 1 | 10 | Baal's Minions | 1 to 2 | L | 76K | 110K | Spectacular disaster! Believe it or not, we came rather close to winning this one. But, the obliteration of the team was all but written in stone before the first die roll, and rolling a one for cards didn't help. I got a magic helmet and gave it to Meat Loaf, but he got casualtied and -1 ST all the same. Managed to assassin squad Count Luthor out of the game early, and his chainsaw guy saw very little action as he was first knocked out and then thrown out of the game. I scored first early in the first half, and I managed to shut down his scoring ability for a whole half. The second half is where the team took its worst hits. But, we gave it a valiant effort, with veteran catchers throwing three-dice-his-choice blocks on his players. Well, it was a nice team while it lasted... Fans loved it: FF+1. Robbed his winnings... :) | 1 | 2 | 2 | 12 | 0 | 1 | WC | Nubian Nihilators | 2 to 3 | L | 93K | 0K | | 2 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | | Team Record: | 3-8-0 | 705K | 610K | Team Totals: | 13 | 23 | 43 | 54 | 7 | 8 |
